The S145 hybrid is a good option for
anyone looking to get more power out of the Nissan CA18
engine. It will suit both standard and mildly modified
engines, with no detrimental effects to driveability.
The Turbo Technics S145 uses the same T25 sized unit as
found in standard trim. A 360 degree thrust bearing is used,
instead of the standard 270 degree bearing, to ensure
reliability in high boost applications. An uprated actuator
will allow this unit to be adjusted between 10 and 18PSI
maximum boost pressure. With mild fuelling and engine
modifications, this turbo can supply enough air for up to
270 BHP!
A new oil feed pipe is recommended with the 1.8 CA18 engine,
and can be supplied by Turbo Technics. The standard feeds
suffer from carbon build-up and can cause premature turbo
failure.
