Citroen ZX
The ZX turbo diesel is
becoming a popular car to modify. When
coupled with our S163 hybrid it becomes
an immensely torquey vehicle which can
be both enjoyable and practical.
The S163 utilises the same T2 found in
standard trim but is upgraded with a
larger compressor wheel and housing to
increase power capabilities. The blades
on the turbine wheel are cut back to
reduce tip resonation, a dangerous
by-product found in high boost
applications. A 360 degree thrust
bearing is used to ensure efficiency
under load over the standard 270 degree
bearing. An uprated actuator means this
unit can be adjusted between 12 and
18PSI maximum boost pressure. With mild
engine and fuelling modifications, this
turbo can support up to 125BHP with huge
amounts of torque.
