Turbo Technics headquarters in Northampton, UK
Based on Brackmills Industrial Estate, Northampton, TT’s manufacturing facility is located on a 1.1 acre (4,450 m2) site, comprising two buildings totalling 19,000 ft2 (1,750 m2). The facility was opened in 2000, and in 2011 the floorspace was greatly increased to accommodate the huge increase in turbo servicing. This is among the most comprehensive independent facilities in the world.
Turbos assembly takes place in a separate ‘clean’ building away from the main manufacturing areas. TT has a dedicated staff with many years of experience and uses its own production machines in the manufacturing process. Parts storage utilises a computer-controlled carousel.
Machines are assembled in a dedicated area by a specialist team. Each build follows a set procedure and is carefully controlled and documented.
Turbo Technics’ machine shop is operated by a very experienced workforce, using both CNC and manual machines. A high degree of accuracy is required on many components, and with fully computerised milling and turning operations, these high standards are maintained across a wide range of machined components. A dedicated welding/fabrication department provides essential support, and an inspection room provides quality control support.
Engineering is central to Turbo Technics existence. The Engineering department comprises a dedicated design/development team with specialists for turbos, machines, electronics and software. SolidWorks CAD is used for design work.
